Krav Maga Houston’s Chief Instructor, CJ Kirk, has been doing martial arts for over 30 years and teaching Krav Maga for over two decades. He is certified and licensed by the Krav Maga Association of America; he is a first generation Levine and a second generation Lichtenfeld instructor, is one of a handful of fourth degree instructor black belts in Krav Maga, and is one of five lead instructors tasked with certifying other instructors for KMAA.

Chief Kirk holds an Advanced Force Training certification for law enforcement and military instruction, is certified to teach children and has taught hundreds of law enforcement and military personnel and thousands of civilians. Chief Kirk is also the founder of the GZTac tactical shooting school, a finisher of QUORUNDAM (the 24 hour Krav Maga crucible), and is a Certified & Licensed Performance Life Coach through Unbeatable Mind. In addition to these achievements, Chief Kirk is a Certified Simumition Tactical Instructor, completed the Houston Marathon in 2000, the Unbeatable Mind 45-minute plank challenge, and the Unbeatable Mind Spartan March (240 miles in 8 days). Chief Kirk earned his BBA from Baylor University, his MBA from The University of Saint Thomas and now resides in Houston, Texas.

US Chief Instructor Darren Levine said Krav Maga Houston is “the best instructor corp anywhere”. And the core group of Krav Maga Houston instructors was named “the most cohesive and talented group of Krav Maga practitioners anywhere” by a filmmaker tasked with filming Krav Maga in the U.S. and around the world.
